Not every kid wants to fight a shortboard on day one, and soft-tops exist for exactly that reason — no fibreglass rash, no fin injuries, just a board built to survive being dropped, dragged up the sand, and dinged against the car boot without cracking. Trust me I have had these boards fallen over before and they have survived without even a scratch on them. The extra length and volume mean easier paddling and easier pop-ups, so they're catching (and actually riding) more waves instead of just circling in the whitewash. EPS foam core, slick HDPE bottom for speed, soft IXPE deck that forgives when things go sideways (they will), and a Futures fin system with fins included — ready to surf straight out of the box.
